Battlezone Generator
Celestial phenomena for Battlefleet Gothic , rolled by the book. Method 2 divides the
table into 60 cm areas, rolls a D6 for each, and rolls the survivors on one battlezone
generator picked for the whole battlefield. Every die is shown, so neither admiral decides
anything. Rulebook v1.10, pp. 104–113.

Sunward edge. Clouds and asteroid belts run parallel to it (p. 109).
Where the book contradicts itself. Rings: the footnote on p. 108 says a large planet
has rings on a 4 or more, while the dedicated Ringed Planets section on p. 113 says 5 or 6.
This tool follows p. 113, on the principle that the section defining the thing outranks the
footnote mentioning it. The roll log states the threshold each time.
Where the book leaves a gap, and what this tool does instead. Four things here are not
printed anywhere in the rulebook. It gives planet diameter bands (small up to 15 cm,
medium 16–25 cm, large 26–50 cm, p. 113) but no die for picking one inside a band, so a D6
walks each band end to end. It caps moons at “up to 5 cm” with no die, so a D3 gives 3, 4 or
5 cm. It says to position phenomena “anywhere within the area” (p. 105) — the last thing in
the whole setup either player could still argue about — so two D6 pick the sixth of the area
instead. And it says only to leave “plenty of empty space” between templates (p. 109), so they
are kept 2 cm apart. Each of the four is named in the roll log where it happens. Only the 4+
area threshold is the book’s; the other thresholds in the menu are this tool’s, and the log
says so when you change it. The book itself calls its sizing and placement advice
“guidelines to take some of the brain ache out of setting up the tabletop, not… definitive
rules” (p. 109).
